She met Lt General Don Rodgers in after both had lost their spouses. In fact they were introduced to each other by President George H.W. Bush. And after they were married, they chose Chattanooga to be their home.
They shared a deep love for each other, their combined children and grandchildren, and their dear friends. They loved learning, laughing, and adventure. Don had an infectious smile and a twinkle in his eye, especially when talking about his family.
He was laid to rest on Thursday in his hometown of Cookeville, Tennessee.
Their story is one worth sharing and remembering. He was a true patriot and is greatly missed.
