“I don’t have any qualms about playing it until the day I die.” How Nymphetamine helped Cradle Of Filth become “the Backstreet Boys” of black metal
By the time they released their sixth studio album, ’s Nymphetamine, Cradle Of Filth were loved and loathed in equal measure. Having partially shed their black metal skins, they’d embraced a more grandiose and symphonic style, dragging extreme metal as close to the mainstream as it could get at that point. They’d even – gasp! – signed to a major label for preceding album Damnation And A Day, which came out on Sony in
Nymphetamine the record featured two versions of its title track. Nymphetamine (Overdose) was a multi-part, nine-minute epic sitting as the centrepiece of the record. But it was a shortened version, dubbed Nymphetamine (Fix), that was sent forth as a single, taking on its own life, propelling the band to even greater levels of infamy and landing them their biggest-selling album to this day. It even got nominated for a Grammy.

She has left her footprints in various genres: with her gothic metal band Theatre Of Tragedy, she secured her position in the history of music. Moreover, as solo artists she has secured her position within the tops of the pop business.
Music in the Veins, Liv Kristine Espenaes was born 14th February, , in Stavanger at the Norwegian west-coast, where she spends her childhood and years at school. Already as a little girl she discovers her fascination for music and singing. Pop-icon Madonna is the ultimate idol for the young Liv, who spends hours on studying the songs and poses of the material girl in front of her mirror.
At the age of ten, Liv and a friend of her found their first band Twice; later on she joins a church choir, singing A.O. the masterpieces of J. S. Bach. However, Liv is searching for creative freedom and thus decides to found the band Theatre Of Tragedy together with some friends. Originally cast as background singer, she convinces her band mates with her singing qualities and turns into the equal duet

Cradle of Filth sind nun schon über 30 Jahre ein Garant für genial düstere Musik. Seit dem befindet sich die Band auf ihrer &#;By Order Of The Dragon&#;-Tour und kurz vor dem ersten Konzert durfte ich mich mit Sänger Dani Filth zu einem Interview via Zoom treffen.
Wie gewohnt startete ich direkt nach einer kleinen Vorstellung meinerseits mit der ersten Frage &#;Wie würdest du Cradle of Filth beschreiben, wenn dich eine Person, welche noch nie von der Band gehört hat, danach fragen würde?&#;
Dani meinte direkt: „Theatralisch, Horror-basiert, kinematisch und schnell! Man könnte es auch als eine Vermählung zwischen Sex und Tod bezeichnen. Simpel gesagt, handelt es sich um theatralischen Extreme-Metal.&#;
Hier konnte ich als langjähriger Fan nur zustimmen. Cradle of Filth haben schon immer mit ihrer düsteren Bühnenshow und ihrem abwechslungsreichen Extreme-Metal beeindruckt. Nachdem die Band uns die kommenden Monate mit einer massiven Tour beglückt, lag folgende Frage auf der Hand: „Nachdem ihr ja nun auf Tour geht, würde mich interessieren, was deine schönste und deine schlimmste Tour-Erfahrung war?&#;

Liv Kristine Espenæs (born February 14, ), better known as Liv Kristine, is a Norwegian singer-songwriter who has performed and composed songs mostly for various subgenres of heavy metal music. She started her career in the music industry as a vocalist for the gothic metal band Theatre of Tragedy, and is the former lead vocalist for the symphonic metal band Leaves&#; Eyes. Currently, she is a singer of German band Midnattsol alongside her younger sister, Carmen Elise Espenæs.
Liv Kristine was born in Stavanger, and joined the Norwegian gothic metal band Theatre of Tragedy in as a backup singer, but was soon sharing lead vocals duties with Raymond István Rohonyi. She was fired from Theatre of Tragedy in , a fact she learned about through the band&#;s website. She had been living in Germany since , and collaborating with the death metal band Atrocity, whose singer Alexander Krull she married on July 3, With the five musicians from Atrocity, she formed a new band, Leaves&#; Eyes, in August She has also released five solo albums, the most recent of which was released in October through Napalm Records.
