Siapakah Talhah bin Ubaidillah?
Talhah bin Ubaidillah merupakan salah satu di antara para sahabat yang terawal masuk Islam dan juga merupakan salah seorang dari 10 sahabat yang telah dijamin oleh Rasulullah SAW bagi mereka memasuki syurga tanpa perlu dihisab. Kedudukannya terletak selepas Sayyidina Ali.
Dimana dan bila beliau dilahirkan?
Beliau dilahirkan di Kota Mekah pada tahun ke setelah tahun gajah atau pada tahun Masihi.
Salasilah keturunan Talhah
Talhah berasal dari keturunan Bani Taim, sama seperti keturunannya Abu Bakar Ash Shiddiq. Nama lengkap beliau bersama dengan nasabnya adalah Talhah bin Ubaidillah bin Uthman bin Amru bin Ka’ab bin Sa’ad bin Taim bin Murrah bin Ka’ab bin Luai.
Salah satu gelaran Talhah bin Ubaidillah adalah abu Muhammad yang bermaksud ayah kepada Muhammad iaitu anak sulungya yang bernama Muhammad As-Sajjad. Ayahnya bernama Ubaidillah bin Uthman dan ibunya adalah Sya’bah binti Hadrami. Ibunya adalah saudara kepada panglima Al-A’la bin Al-Hadrami yang merupakan penakluk negeri Bahrain pada pemerintahan

Sayyidina Talhah ibn ‘Ubaidullah
One of the ten Companions promised Jannat by the Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam and amongst the forerunners of the Muhajirin.
Lineage
Talhah, the son of ‘Ubaidullah, the son of ‘Uthman, the son of ‘Amr, the son of ‘Amir, the son of Ka’b, the son of Sa’d, the son of Taym, the son of Murrah, the son of Ka’b.
His genealogy meets with that of the Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam at Murrah, and meets with that of Abu Bakr al Siddiq radiya Llahu ‘anhu at Ka’b ibn Sa’d.
His mother is al Sa’bah al Hadrami[1], the daughter of ‘Abdullah, the son of ‘Imad, the son of Akbar, the son of Rabi’ah, the son of Malik, the son of ‘Uwayf al Hadrami.
She is the sister of ‘Ala’ al Hadrami the eminent Sahabi of the Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, who was Mustajab al Da’wah.[2]

He was Talha ibn Ubaidullah ibn Uthman ibn Amr ibn Kaab ibn Saad ibn Taim ibn Murrah ibn Kaab ibn Lu'ay, a member of the Quraysh tribe, specifically the Timi branch. He was also known by the nickname "Abu Muhammad." Talha was one of the early converts to Islam, having embraced the faith upon the invitation of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him.
Talha, may Allah be pleased with him, was one of the ten companions who promised paradise. He and Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with both of them, were referred to as "Al-Qarainan" because of their close bond formed when they both accepted Islam under the sponsorship of Nawfal ibn Khwailid. Background
Hazrat Talha(ra) belonged to the Banu Taym bin Murrah tribe. His father’s name was Ubaidullah bin Uthman and the name of his mother was Sa‘bah(ra), who was the daughter of Abdullah bin Imad Hazrami and was the sister of Hazrat Alaa(ra) bin Hazrami. Hazrat Talha’s title was Abu Muhammad. The name of Hazrat Alaa(ra) bin Hazrami’s father was Abdullah bin Imad Hazrami.
Hazrat Alaa(ra) was originally from Hazr Maut and was the confederate of Harr bin Umayyah. The Holy Prophet(sa) had appointed Hazrat Alaa(ra) as the governor of Bahrain and he served as the governor until his demise. Hazrat Alaa(ra) passed away in the fourteenth year after Hijra during the Khilafat of Hazrat Umar(ra).
One of his brothers, Aamir bin Hazrami, who had not accepted Islam, was killed during the Battle of Badr. Another brother of his, Amr bin Hazrami was the first idolater to be killed by a Muslim.
