Desde vive en Miami, Estados Unidos y comparte su tiempo trabajando en sus estudios en Vedado, La Habana y Wynwood, Miami. También trabaja en dibujos a lápiz sobre la pared en espacios específicos y proyectos efímeros en cualquier parte del mundo.
Desde su trabajo ha sido exhibido a nivel nacional e internacional. Ha presentado exposiciones personales en: David Castillo Gallery, Miami Beach; Cheekwood Museum, Nashville, Tennessee; Lowe Museum, Coral Gables, Florida; Worcester Art Museum, Worcester, Massachusetts; Locust Project, Miami, Florida; Bernice Steinbaum Gallery, Miami; Miami Art Museum, Miami; Snite Museum, Universidad de Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana; Espacio Aglutinador, La Habana; Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, La Habana y Galería Habana, La Habana, Cuba, entre otros.

Glexis Novoa was born in Holguín, Cuba, in into a mulatto-mestizo household. His family moved to Havana before he was one-year-old, where he was exposed to the arts from an early age through his maternal familys extensive artistic heritage. His father, although with a short career, influenced by Clyfford Still, was an innovator of abstract art in Cuba in the early 60s. His mother and main role model is a renowned Cuban writer.
In , while still a student, Novoa won a national honor in a competition among well-known professional artists. In he obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts’ degree as engraver and draftsman at the National School of Art in Havana. In he held his first solo exhibition at the legendary Galería Habana and also exhibited the first kinetic and sonorous engraving in the history of Cuban art. By the second half of the s, Novoa had developed an articulated professional career, becoming one of the most radical influences on the vibrant local art scene known as The s Cuban Art Revival. Born in Holguín, Cuba () Glexis Novoa studied at the National School of Art (ENA), Cubanacán, and the René Portocarrero Silk Screen Print Shop, Havana, Cuba. He traveled to Mexico, in , and moved to Miami, in His work has been included in numerous individual and group exhibitions. His most recent solo shows include Suttas Devas, Ilan Karpio Projects, Lima, Peru (); Glexis Novoa, David Castillo Gallery, Miami Beach, FL (); Things as They Are, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba (); and Emptiness, Lowe Art Museum, Coral Gables, FL (). He has worked on site specific wall drawings and ephemeral projects worldwide, and has received many awards including grants from the Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (CIFO); the Cintas Foundation; and the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship for Visual and Media Artists. He lives and works in Havana and Miami, FL. Glexis Novoa, one of Miamis more prominent artists, has a studio in a just out of the way location north of Wynwood, where he will also start exhibiting art in the front rooms. The purpose, he says, is to give a voice to art that otherwise might not be heard in the commercial gallery world. Novoa joins some other artists, such as Adalberto Delgado and Robert and Kristen Thiele, who have opened up space for this same purpose. Its a great trend, one with only positive benefits for the growth of Miamis artistic community. To inaugurate his space in Little Haiti, Novoa invited an artist visiting from Havana, Luis Gomez, to intervene in his front rooms. Called The Cave, experiencing this artists work at this location is indeed like crawling in — and then discovering — a cave. As background, Gomezs work is part of collections all over, from Europe to the United States, and he is chair of the New Media Lab at ISA, Havana.
