Nant Gwrtheyrn Residential Course
Are you a new speaker at Intermediate level or above? Do you want to learn and share creative techniques of putting Welsh into practice? The residential course between March 11th and 15th at Nant Gwrtheyrn would be perfect for you.
During the week a tutor from Nant Gwrtheyrn and members of the Welsh Art Consortium will work together to create a unique experience for you. Nant Gwrtheyrn tutors will provide their usual classes as well as sessions exploring Synhwyro’r Iaith (Sensing the language) techniques allowing you to put the Welsh language in the centre of your creative practice.

What is biography?
It is one of the most important subgenres of the didactic genre of literature, since it consists of the text of the history of the life of a person. It is a written narration in which the most important facts of a person&#;s life are related as a summary, starting with the birth, with the whole context of the place of origin, and in some cases even going back to family history. The narrator is not the protagonist.
As for the completion of the biography, many of them are written when the protagonist has already died, so that it covers his or her life from beginning to end. However, it is up to the writer to choose how far the biography will go, especially if the protagonist lives.
Meaning of the subgenre biography
The term comes from the union of the Greek bios, which refers to life, and graphein, which refers to writing. This is how the term is configured, giving rise to a form of writing focused on life, so that it can also be used in a symbolic sense.

It is a type of text written in the third person, in which the content consists of a summary of the life of a person, however, it may include appreciation
In its second year, the Llais y Lle (Voice of Place) scheme is run by the Arts Council of Wales and funded by the National Lottery. The aim is to develop creative uses of the Welsh language though the provision of financial and practical support.
Funding is available for individuals or groups who have experience of working creatively with communities through the medium of Welsh. Applicants should think about presenting projects which focus on the language as well as promote local ownership of it.
Einir Sion, Welsh Language Enabler at the Arts Council of Wales, said: "The fund is available for people with forward-thinking and creative ideas to put Welsh at the heart of a project in their community. We’re looking for projects that have the potential to discover proactive ways of working and lay solid foundations for future development.
"There are no limits to the type of project we can support, only that they focus on the Welsh language and have the potential to foster and promote ownership of it within different communities."
